Chapter 1 - God chastises Israel for her ingratitude Chapter 2 - The Priests are
reprimanded for profaning the covenant.
Chapter 3 - God promises to bless those who fear Him Chapter 4 - Malachi tells
of God’s Judgment on the wicked
What we have learned from these passages:
1. We need to be aware of God’s wrath. Israel was punished for her ingratitude.
2. The Lord must have our best. He is angered when we give Him less then the
tithes and try to convince others that we have given the full tithes to God.
3. God will judge those who oppress others.
4. If we are right with God, no matter how small the tenth of our income may be,
if given willing and because we love God, it will be enough.
5. Always remember the loaves and fishes and remember the sling and the stones,
in God’s work, it will be enough.
Prayer:
O God, teach us to remember that the giving of our tithes is one of the most
important requirements God makes of us, and the price of disobedience is
disastrous. Amen
