Chapter 5 - Jesus tells who is blessed
Chapter 6 - Jesus tells us the need for prayer
What do we learn from these passages?
1. Jesus tells us that those whom He sees as worthy of His blessings will be
blessed but not those who think they should be blessed.
2. Jesus shows how important Christians are. He places us in a world where
people are lost, in a world of spiritual darkness, and we, who are Christians,
must be a light that will bring them out of the darkness of sin into the
radiance of God’s salvation.
3. Isn’t it funny that the only way to destroy our enemies is to win them to
Christ. Yet, we as a nation seek to destroy them with weapons of war but when
have we ever succeeded?
4. After reading this lesson, we should ask ourselves “how many of us have
placed are own desire for things ahead of our love and obedience to God?”
Have we placed the need for unnecessary things above the need of people whose
lives have become ruined by nature or some other forces?
5. Each of us has many needs but “if we will put God first” we many not always
eat steak or wear high fashion clothes, but He will provide all that we need.
Isn’t that enough?
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, Forgive us when we do not trust completely in You. Help us to let
our lights shine in this world so others will come to know you. Lead us this
day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
