Israel's

What can we learn from these verses?
1. Music played a big part in the temple worship. Music can play a big
part in our
private devotions as well as our worship services.
2. God gives a free will and allows us to go our own way. Through this we
learn the
consequences of sin. Sometimes God uses these experiences to turn us
away from
greater sin and to faith in God.
3. The psalmist wants to get away from the world to meet God in God's
dwelling place.
We need to get away from the world and enjoy quiet time with God. We can
meet with
God anytime, anywhere.
4. The psalmist wanted God to restore (revive) the people. He wanted them
brought back
to spiritual life. We need constant revival and renewal in our lives.
Ask God for
a special touch today. Enthusiasm means "God in you" or "full of God."
Are you
enthusiastic today?
5. "Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth." Study your
Bible to learn
what pleases God.
6. The shortest pray in time of trouble: "God!" When you are living close
to God, that's
all you need to say.
7. Zion (the holy mountain, Jerusalem) and it temple represents the future
community of
all believers. Look at Revelation 21:10-27 - the Holy City of God. Is
your name
listed in the Lamb's book of life? (Revelation 21:27)
Prayer: God, help me to take time away from my busy schedule to rest in
you. Refresh me.
Strengthen me. Give me your perspective. Show me what is important and what
is not. Give
me your enthusiasm so that my faith can be set on fire. Change me where I
need to change
so that I can be a change-agent in the world. In the name of Jesus I pray.
Amen.
