Chapter 6 - The Shulammite - the loveliest lady of the palace
Chapter 7 - Mutual devotion
Chapter 8 - Love Unquenchable

This is a poem about the joys of wedded life. The Jews read it at Passover as allegorically referring to the Exodus, where God joined himself to Israel as His Bride. Christians see it as a pre-nuptial song of Christ and the Church. The  Church is called the Bride of Christ.

What can we learn from these verses?

1. "Little Foxes" are problems that can hurt a relationship. Look out for the little things.
2. In a healthy marriage, lovers are also good friends. They listen to each other, understand each other, are willing to sacrifice for each other. There is a union of mind and body.
3. In the New Testament the Church is the Bride of Christ. (Matthew 9:15,
25:1, JOhn 3:29;
II Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:23, Revelation 19:7, 21:2, 22:17)

Prayer: God, help me to invest the time and energy needed to have healthy relationships. Help me not only to want a good mate, but to seek to be a good mate. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
