Ps. 36 - The faithfulness of God and the sinfulness of humanity

Ps. 37 - How do you live in the midst of wicked people? The righteous is contrasted to the wicked.

Ps. 38 - A penitential Psalm - God forgives our sin and gives us hope.

Ps. 39 - Life is frail and brief. "Hear my pray, O Lord, listen to my cry for help."

What can we learn from these verses?

1. God delays the punishment of the wicked, but it will come.
2. God is faithful and just.
3. Never envy evil people or desire what they have. It will fade and vanish. Your treasure is in heaven.
4. A person's character is revealed by the way they handle money. How do you acquire your money? How do you spend it?
5. Life is brief. Don't spend so much time preparing for your life on earth that you fail to plan for your eternity. God has a wonderful retirement plan for you with many benefits!

Prayer: God, help me to take my eyes off of the material things of the world and to focus on you. Help me to remember that I am only passing through this world on a journey. My real home is with you. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
