Chapter 5 - Moses confronts Pharaoh
Chapter 6 - Moses complains to God
Chapter 7 - First plagues
What do we learn from this lesson?
1. How often have we prayed for some situation and then things get even worse
than before? Moses asks Pharaoh to let the children of Israel go and he makes
their lives worse by demanding the same amount of bricks without giving them
straw.
2. What are some of the situations you have prayed about and no answer came? Did
you cry out, “why me?” The Israelites probably cried out many times when they
were beaten for not making enough bricks. But God was watching and would provide
a way of escape and He has heard our prayers and will answer them in His time
and in His way.
3. Moses complains to God and God reminds him who he is talking to. How many
times did He say, “I am the Lord?” Our Lord has the right to answer our prayers
in His time. We just need to trust Him.
4. Pharaoh thought he was in control of the situation and refused to listen to
Moses and Aaron but God had a different plan which had an end view to change
Pharaoh’s mind. What is God asking you to do for Him? Will it take some plague
before you consent to God’s plan for your life?
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, Forgive us when we fail to listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Help us today to let you be in charge of our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
