Today's Bible Reading...

Bible Application - Leviticus 4-6 - February 2

Questions:
1. “If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, then let him offer to the Lord for his sin which he has sinned a young _______ without blemish as a ________ offering. (4:3)
2. “Or if a person _________ , speaking thoughtlessly with his lips to do evil or to do good, whatever it is that a man may pronounce by an ____, and he is unaware of it--when he realizes it, then she shall be guilty in any of these matters.” (5:4)
3. “Or if he has found what was lost and lies concerning it, and ____________ falsely--in any one of these things that a man may do in which he sins. (6:3)
4. “A ________ shall always be burning on the altar, it shall never go out “ (6:13)
5. “All the ________ among the priests may eat it. It is most holy. (6:29)

Chapter 4 - Sin offerings for the priests
Chapter 5 - Offerings of concealment
Chapter 6 - The law of sin offerings

What do we learn from these chapters?
1. How must God look upon the use of filthy speech in our schools, on our streets, in our theaters or even in our homes? Swearing is an abomination to God. Sin is sin and needs an offer of sacrifice in order to be forgiven. This sacrifice for us today was made many years ago and needs only to be recognized as our own before God to be forgiven of this sin that hurts some, offends others but brings pain to the heart of God.
2. We also learn that to find that which belongs to another and refuse to return it to its rightful owner is sin and must be confessed and returned to its rightful owner with the asking of forgiveness and if necessary, restitution made.
3. One verse that really jumps out to me is verse 14, chapter 6. In our homes, hearts and churches has the flaming fire of God left unattended and slowly dying? Letting this flame die in the church leads to a cooling off of the burning fever that led the church and its people to greatness in days past. Pray and ask God to fan once again the fires that are left to die that once again the church may burst forth in a burning firebrand for the Lord.
4. We learn that the pastor needs should be provided. The Pastor is sent by God as one who serves for Him.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, Thank you for providing forgiveness for our sins for in this You have provided not only peace and contentment but also a place in Heaven for us. Amen
