the Lord.” (14:21)

6. “Then the Lord commanded _________, all the congregation brought him outside
the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died.” (15:35)
Chapter 14 - God threatens the murmuring Israelites
Chapter 15 - The Sabbath breaker is stoned to death
What do we learn from these chapters?
1. No matter how great the fear or how bad reports may be, there is always a
brighter side. “Do not listen to the prophets of doom.” Trust God to direct our
leaders. The advice given to the children of Israel is profitable for us today.
“Rebel not against the Lord.” After all, He is our sure defense against all
enemies.
2. Only the true and honest men of God were permitted to enter the promised
land.
3. Why 40 years in the wilderness? God said, “One year in the wilderness for
every day you spent in your iniquities.”
4. Wait upon the Lord is important for all of us. If the Lord is not in our
plans, then danger is ahead. Since the Lord is among us, we should seek His will
in all matters.
5. From this lesson, we learn that there is the same law for all people
regardless of race, color or creed, rich or poor, citizen or stranger within our
borders, all are to be dealt with according to the law and equally.
6. As Israel was to remember the Lord who brought them out of Egypt, so we must
never forget the God who through fearless leaders and patriots gave us such a
rich and beautiful land. This we must never forget less He withdraw His presence
from us.
Prayer:
O God, with grateful hearts, we have received our land of plenty from you. May
we never forget Your love for us and the way You have led us through the years.
Keep us ever mindful that these things can be removed from us if we rebel
against Thee. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
