Chapter 3 - Agony of the people and all hope gone
Chapter 4 - The horror of the Siege
Chapter 5 - Defeat - loss of land, respect, and freedom
Results-Cruelty, rape, forced labor.
All because of sin. He prays to God for help.

What do we learn from this passage?
l. The writer mourned not only because of the destruction of Jerusalem
and the Temple, but because he knew that God had given them up to the
enemy.
2 He knew that God had rejected the people because of their sin.
3 He is very specific in showing how God punished them.
4 We see the agony of all in the individual experience of the writer as
he indicated all hope was gone (3:18).
5 God will not look the other way when we sin. He is keeping track of
all our sin.
6. We need to ask for forgiveness and have our record wiped clean.
God has promised forgiveness. He also promised to wipe our records
clean when we ask for forgiveness.

Prayer:
Lord, May we remember what we read in our Bible today, especially the
part where we are to “lift our hands to Heaven” and ask for Your help.
May Your peace be our strength. May we be motivated to follow Your
commandments and to do all the work you have given to us this day.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
